2020 Ploughing Match
The 2020 match was held at Gibralter Farm at the kind permission of John and Joy Lewin who also very kindly sponsored the food for the ploughmen.
After a challenging harvest and a large gap between most people seeing each other due to coronavirus, and the fact that the redbourn match was the only ploughing match in Herts or Beds in 2020, the day was pretty special.
Covid secure guidelines and measures were in place and both ploughmen and spectators were able to attend safely.
David Deacon was the grand champion of the day, only narrowly beating his son Charlie overall. Holly Hudgell won the youths class on her first ever match aged just 13!
Ploughing is evidently the covid safe sport of the future. We will brace ourselves for the thousands of entries next year!
